Join a Large-Scale Industrial Security Team in Kitimat, BC!

We are seeking Security Officers who reside in the Kitimat or Terrace area to join our team supporting a large-scale industrial project in Kitimat, British Columbia.

Successful applicants will play a critical role in maintaining site security, supporting access control operations, assisting with emergency response, and helping ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and infrastructure.

*Local Residents Only: Applicants must currently reside in Kitimat or Terrace, BC, or be willing to relocate prior to their start date.*

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining excellent customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers
  • Access control/intrusion detection of site, waterfront and port area
  • Monitoring site activities, detecting suspicious occurrences and providing detailed written incident reports
  • Mobile and foot patrols of assigned area and recording daily activities
  • Processing site access requests (Visitors, Vendors, Deliveries)
  • Administrative duties and issuing/creating site access badges
  • Monitoring access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems
  • Emergency response dispatch and team communications via radio

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Security License
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid or Level C CPR/AED
  • Valid full Class 5 Driver's Licence and acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • Valid Transportation Endorsement
  • Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test (SSRG will arrange)
  • Must be able to pass criminal record check
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Willingness to work both day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required

Additional Information

  • Full uniform provided including PPE. Applicants need to provide their own black, 6 inch CSA approved safety boots (boot allowance provided).
  • 12-hour shifts, day and night, 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
  • Must reside in Kitimat or Terrace area and be able to commute daily
  • Shuttle transit from Terrace to Kitimat site and return is available
  • Applicants currently not residing in the area must be willing to re-locate to be considered for the position
