Job description

Wholesale brokerage agency seeking a Sr/Supervising P&C carrier underwriter with 10+years of experience in the P&C Commercial and the E&S industry. A college degee, commercial product, underwriting/marketing experience and an entrepreneurial spirit is required. Perfer some supervisory or management experience with a carrier, standard lines or E&S as this position will take over the management of the branch eventually.
Candidate will work with retail agents to develop new business with admitted and non-admitted carriers including many Lloyd's of London markets. Must be aggressive with a strong work ethic, with compensation and career promotion based on successful efforts. Territory includes the MD, VA, DE states. Knowledge of the retail agents in this territory required.

This is a succession position to take over for the Branch Manager as he is retiring in less than 2 years. Looking for management experience or aptitude to continue growth of this office in the tri state area.
Candidate will work with retail agents to develop business with admitted and non-admitted carriers including many Lloyd's of London markets. You must be aggressive and a hard worker. The perfect candidate will be:
Management experience - managing a branch or department on the company, wholesale or E&S side of the business
Technical experience - underwrite as a senior underwriter (preferably for a company), may have underwritten on the E&S side. Has professional designations - CPCU, AU, ASLI, CIC or similar.
Territory knowledge - has worked with agents in the Mid-Atlantic area (MD, VA, PA, DE, WV)
Marketing experience - agency presentations, producing marketing materials, managing an agency plant (volume, loss ratio, submission activity) and has developed action plans for improvement.
Program experience - has developed P&C programs with admitted or non-admitted carriers.
E&S experience - have underwritten or worked with E&S carriers. Has experience of working directly with Lloyd's of London.
Education - college degree
