Personal Assistant & Driver

Location: In person — Jersey City area primarily, with regular trips into Manhattan and Central New Jersey Type: Full-time Reports to: CEO, and works closely with his wife on household and family matters

The Short Version

This is two roles in one person: a personal, household, and office assistant who keeps the family's day and the CEO's schedule running, and a driver who keeps the CEO moving. Some days lean more toward one than the other. The person who fits this is organized, discreet, genuinely reliable, comfortable around a newborn, and happy behind the wheel — someone who takes ownership of "just handle it" rather than waiting to be told each step.

You are trusted with the family's home, their child, their schedule, and their car. That trust is the whole job.

What You'll Do

Personal & Household

• Run errands and store runs — groceries, pharmacy, returns, dry cleaning, packages, whatever the day needs
• Help the CEO's wife with day-to-day tasks around the baby (supply runs, prepping and organizing, extra hands during appointments) — supporting her, not replacing her as the parent
• Prep for travel — packing lists, bookings coordination, getting bags and the car ready, airport runs
• Handle personal admin and scheduling — appointments, reservations, calendar coordination, following up on the small things that fall through the cracks
• Manage the CEO's calendar and email — keep the schedule current, flag what needs attention, tee up replies, and stay on top of the inbox
• Handle small items around the office — keep it stocked and orderly, take deliveries, tidy up, and knock out the little tasks that pile up
• Keep the household stocked and orderly — anticipate what's running low before it runs out
• Take on personal projects and one-off "can you deal with this" tasks and close them out without hand-holding

Driving & Logistics

• Morning: pick up the CEO and drive him to the office
• Through the day: available to his wife for errands, baby-related trips, and appointments
• On call: when the CEO needs to move — between the office, Manhattan, Central NJ, or a site visit — come get him and drive him there
• Evening: drives home and end-of-day runs as needed
• Travel: come along on trips and handle the driving on the road — longer hauls out of state, multi-day trips, getting the family and luggage where they need to be
• Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, serviced on schedule, and ready to roll at all times

A Typical Day (so you know what you're signing up for)

Early start to get the CEO to the office. Mid-morning you're with his wife and the baby — a store run, an errand, a stroller walk while she gets an hour to herself. Around lunch the CEO needs to get into Manhattan for a meeting, so you drive him in and back. Afternoon is errands and travel prep for a trip later in the week. Evening drop-off home.

No two days are identical. The good version of this person reads the day and gets ahead of it.

What This Role Is — and Isn't

• It is a trusted right hand for a busy family and a professional driver rolled into one.
• It isn't a sole childcare / nanny position. You'll help with the baby, but you are never the only adult responsible for the child, and childcare is not the core of the job.
• It isn't a chauffeur-for-hire or livery driver. You drive this family, not paying passengers.
• It isn't a clock-watcher role. Hours flex with the day. In exchange, downtime between drives is genuinely yours.

What You Bring

• A clean driving record and a valid NJ license — this is non-negotiable and will be verified
• Comfort and confidence driving in Jersey City, NYC, and on highways, in all conditions
• Real reliability — you show up early, you don't cancel, people can build their day around you
• Available and willing to travel — day trips, longer drives, and multi-day trips as needed, including some overnights away
• Discretion — you'll see the family's home, finances-in-passing, schedule, and private life; none of it leaves the car
• Genuine comfort around infants and a calm, careful presence in the home
• Ownership mindset — you take a loose instruction and finish the job, then tell me it's done
• Willingness to pass a background check and provide checkable references (required given access to the home and child)

Nice to have: experience as a personal/executive assistant, household manager, or private driver; familiarity with the Jersey City / NYC / Central NJ corridor.

Compensation

• $45,000–$60,000/year, depending on experience — with the higher end for someone who's clearly done both halves of this well before
• Ability to work your way up to a trusted EA role
• Vehicle provided (you drive the family's car; you are not using your own)
• Fuel, tolls, and vehicle costs covered
• Paid time off
