Job description

We are looking for a talented all-rounder to join our production team, responsible for producing, shooting and editing headline-grabbing interviews, documentaries and live broadcasts.

This is a hands-on role that combines high-quality video production with ownership of our New York studio. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management, operation and technical readiness of the studio, ensuring it is always prepared to deliver professional live and recorded content.

A key part of this role is leading the technical delivery of live streaming productions. You will oversee the setup, operation and troubleshooting of live broadcasts across multiple platforms, ensuring seamless execution of live interviews, discussions and special events.

The successful candidate should have extensive hands-on production experience, a strong news sense and the ability to identify compelling stories and maximise the reach and impact of our content.

As a busy newsroom, our content is often produced at short notice in response to breaking news. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to changing priorities and, when required, support productions outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Please note this role is full-time and office-based in New York, US. Salary is dependent on experience.

Requirements

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day management, maintenance and operation of the New York studio.
  • Lead the technical production of all live streams, ensuring reliable, high-quality broadcasts.
  • Produce, shoot and edit interviews, documentaries, podcasts and other editorial video content.
  • Configure and operate studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio and live streaming systems.
  • Ensure all studio equipment is maintained, tested and ready for use, proactively identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial teams to plan and deliver compelling video content around breaking news and major events.
  • Optimise content for YouTube and other digital platforms to maximise audience reach and engagement.
  • Help develop production workflows and continually improve the quality and efficiency of studio output

  • Extensive experience producing, shooting and editing high-quality video content, including interviews and live broadcasts.
  • Proven experience managing and operating live streams, including configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting live productions across multiple platforms.
  • Experience taking ownership of a professional studio environment, ensuring all equipment is maintained, configured and production-ready at all times.
  • Deep technical knowledge of professional video production workflows, with hands-on experience operating high-end cameras, audio equipment and production hardware.
  • Expert proficiency with Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with vMix, DaVinci Resolve and other live production software is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of live production workflows, streaming technologies and broadcast best practice.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused individual who takes ownership and works calmly under pressure to deliver high-quality output.
