Responsibilities can vary but often include tasks like animal care, planting and harvesting crops, maintenance work, and sometimes assisting with farm events or tours. These roles can be seasonal or long-term and may offer unique experiences in rural living and agriculture. It’s a great way to learn hands-on skills, immerse yourself in farm life, and often to connect with nature and sustainable living practices.

What are some unique challenges someone might face while working in a Live On Farm position, and how can they prepare for them?

Working in a Live On Farm role can be both rewarding and demanding. One unique challenge is adapting to a variable schedule, as livestock and crops often require attention outside of standard working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, living and working in close proximity with your team can blur the lines between personal and professional life, so strong communication and setting boundaries are important. Preparing mentally and physically for outdoor, sometimes strenuous tasks, and being open to learning about sustainable farming practices can help you succeed and enjoy the experience.
