General Summary:

ย Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Resident Assistant - Live-In to join our team. This unique opportunity allows you to live in a supportive residential setting while helping individuals build independence, develop life skills, and live, work, and thrive in their community.ย 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support, assistance, and supervision to the residents.ย 
  • Perform various clinical and behavioral interventions as directed by Management, demonstrating competent behavioral and clinical interventions.ย 
  • Supervise resident medications, dispensing accurately, and reporting resident medication compliance.
  • Monitor and report on symptoms, strengths, and areas of challenges to Manager, other staff, case managers, and other service providers.
  • Develop and implement all features of resident recovery plans, focusing on Principles of Recovery and Cultural Diversity.ย 
  • Promote Goodwill's mission and teamwork among other staff and customers.ย 
  • Effectively communicate with residents, professionals, family, and others verbally, in writing and via the computer.ย 
  • Provide support and training to residents in community integration activities, including informed use of the fullest range of generic community resources.ย 
  • Complete all documentation required for resident care, facility operations and licensure.ย 
  • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping duties, including cleaning, shopping, meal planning, and minor repairs.ย 
  • Complete assigned duties, including required training in a timely manner.ย 
  • Follow all established safety rules while performing duties, and report known safety accidents and hazards in a timely manner.ย 
  • Effectively respond to residents and the environment in all situations.ย 
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.ย

  • Ability to maintain a stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment, mostly indoor office environment.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate.
  • Ability to stand, walk up and down stairs without assistance, lift, push or pull up to 20 lbs.

  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License, good driving record and proof of insurance


Live-In Expectations

Because this is a live-in position, the successful candidate must be comfortable residing in the designated Goodwill residential setting and fulfilling the responsibilities and expectations associated with a live-in role. Specific living arrangements, scheduled responsibilities, time-off expectations, compensation, and other position requirements will be reviewed during the interview process.


Travel Required: Occasional travel and transport of residents for community integration.ย ย 


Required education and/or work experience:

  • High School diploma and work experience caring for individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Associates' college degree or 1 year of work experience in human services or related field is preferred.ย
