Alaska Premier Auctions & Appraisals (APAA) is a locally grown, Alaskan-owned small business committed to excellence in auction services. We connect people to meaningful items, antique treasures, historical artifacts, fine art, vehicles, equipment, firearms, jewelry, and everyday collectibles, and bring their stories to light through our expertise and care.
We're proud to have been named one of the 2025 Best Workplaces in Alaska by the Alaska Journal of Commerce. This recognition is based on feedback from an anonymous, third-party employee survey conducted by Best Companies Group. Achieving this honor reflects our team's dedication to fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Here, you'll join a collaborative, respectful, and hands-on team that values hard work, integrity, and teamwork. We believe in supporting your development, celebrating your contributions, and giving you the tools and autonomy to shine.
What the Digital Marketing Specialist Does
The Digital Marketing Specialist collaborates closely with the Marketing Director to support APAA's advertising and marketing initiatives. This role plays a key part in visual storytelling through photography, videography, and multimedia production, ensuring all content reflects a consistent and engaging brand presence.
The Specialist is responsible for capturing, producing, editing, and optimizing photo and video content, managing social media channels, and supporting campaign execution across digital platforms. This includes hands-on work with cameras, lighting, editing software, and publishing tools to create compelling, auction-driven marketing content that increases visibility, engagement, and sales.
Key Responsibilities Include
  • Capture high-quality photography and videography of inventory, events, team members, and behind-the-scenes operations to support marketing efforts.
  • Plan, shoot, and produce video content tailored for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and email campaigns.
  • Edit multimedia content, including photo retouching, video editing, audio balancing, color correction, and formatting for various platforms.
  • Develop engaging social media content, including reels, stories, posts, and short-form videos that align with APAA's brand voice.
  • Manage and execute social media publishing, including scheduling, posting, monitoring engagement, and responding as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director on campaign strategy, ensuring multimedia content supports marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Maintain and execute social media calendars, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and alignment with auction schedules.
  • Analyze content and campaign performance using analytics tools and adjust strategies to improve engagement and conversion.
  • Design compelling digital assets that promote auctions, events, and brand awareness.
  • Identify trends in social media, photography, and video to keep APAA's content fresh, relevant, and competitive.
  • Research and capitalize on market opportunities, holidays, special events, and anniversaries to increase visibility and profitability.
  • Suggest and implement new strategies for attracting prospective customers, including promotions, competitions, and campaigns.
  • Support marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertisements; participate in presentations and trade shows as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments to gather content and ensure accurate representation of inventory and services.
  • Maintain organization of digital assets, including file management, storage, and accessibility for marketing use.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Impact You'll Make

  • You support a collaborative, creative, and innovative marketing environment.

What Success Looks Like
  • Content is consistently on-brand, engaging, and aligned with APAA's marketing goals.
  • Social media calendars, analytics, and reports are accurate and delivered on schedule.
  • Marketing campaigns demonstrate measurable improvement through engagement and performance metrics.
  • Positive collaboration and proactive communication with the marketing team and leadership.
  • Growth in online presence, visibility, and audience interaction across platforms.
