Live In Yoga Instructor information

What is a live in yoga instructor?

Live in yoga instructors are certified yoga teachers who reside at a client’s home, retreat center, or another location for an extended period. Their primary role is to provide daily yoga instruction, personalized wellness guidance, and sometimes additional services like meditation or nutrition advice. Living on-site allows them to offer more immersive, consistent, and tailored experiences for individuals, families, or groups. This arrangement is popular at wellness retreats, private residences, or during special events where continuous support and teaching are desired.

What are some unique challenges and benefits of working as a live in yoga instructor compared to a traditional studio-based role?

As a live-in yoga instructor, you often become part of the household or retreat community, which can lead to deeper relationships with students and more personalized instruction. However, maintaining professional boundaries and personal time can be challenging since your work and living spaces overlap. This role typically requires flexibility in scheduling, as classes or private sessions might occur at various times to accommodate clients' needs. On the positive side, live-in positions often offer unique perks such as free accommodation, meals, and access to onsite facilities, and they can provide rich opportunities for cultural exchange and personal growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in yoga instructor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live In Yoga Instructor, you need a recognized yoga certification, in-depth knowledge of yoga techniques, and experience in teaching diverse groups. Familiarity with scheduling tools, online teaching platforms, and basic first aid certification is often required. Outstanding communication, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity are essential soft skills for building trust and creating a supportive environment. These skills and qualities ensure effective instruction, student well-being, and a harmonious living and learning experience.

A live-in yoga instructor can earn a living depending on factors such as location, experience, and the type of employment arrangement. Income may come from teaching classes, private sessions, or wellness programs, often supplemented by tips or accommodations provided by employers. Job description

InfraRED Studio Instructor

(Yoga • Pilates • Barre)

Competitive per-class pay: $35–$45 per class

When you work at the Best. Gym. Ever., you’re not just teaching a class — you’re creating an experience.

Our InfraRED Studio is a premium, boutique-style environment designed to deliver intentional movement, elevated coaching, and real results. If you’re a seasoned yoga, Pilates, or barre instructor who thrives in front of a room and loves building community, this is your stage.

We’re looking for experienced, confident coaches who know how to lead with presence, energy, and purpose.

What You’ll Do
  • A seasoned or experienced instructor in Yoga, Pilates, and/or Barre
  • Comfortable leading in a heated/infrared environment (or excited to learn)
  • Strong in cueing, sequencing, and offering smart modifications
  • Confident performing in front of a room and owning your space
  • Passionate about community, connection, and changing lives
  • You don’t just teach movement. You coach it. You embody it. You elevate it.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, high-energy boutique experience
  • Lead safe, effective, and engaging InfraRED classes for all levels
  • Deliver intentional programming with clear coaching and alignment focus
  • Begin and end every class on time — professionalism matters
  • Own your class on the schedule and keep subbing to a minimum
  • Partner with Fitness Leadership on scheduling, feedback, and studio standards
  • Maintain studio cleanliness, excellence and uphold all Group Exercise policies
And you’re a brand builder:
  • Actively promote your classes to drive attendance and engagement
  • Post on social media at least 2x per week promoting your class (stories, reels, posts — we love creativity!)
  • Tag @theedgefitnessclubs and help us grow the InfraRED community
  • You’re not just an instructor. You’re an ambassador.
