Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, effectively identifying psychological and emotional care needs.
• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping seniors cope with life transitions, grief, and mental health challenges related to aging.
• Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including primary care providers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address both mental and physical health.
• Facilitate programs focused on cognitive stimulation and memory retention, applying therapeutic techniques to promote mental acuity among elderly individuals.
• Educate families and staff on mental health best practices to enhance the quality of life for seniors, ensuring a holistic care approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with seniors facing a variety of challenges often associated with aging, including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is required to ensure compliance with state regulations and to deliver professional mental health services.
• Demonstrated expertise or specialized training in geriatric mental health, focusing on aging-related issues, is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
