Primary duties include measuring, maneuvering materials, and creating supportive frameworks for HVAC ducts, metal roofing, gutters, and siding. The Sheet Metal Worker must follow all safety procedures and work effectively within a team to facilitate professional results.Required TasksWork independently with little supervisionPlan, lay out, repair and install sheet metal products and partsTake measurements according to blueprintsUtilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal productsMeasure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, ruler, calculator and squaresFasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will lastInstall assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, flashings, rain gutters and furnace casings in supportive frameworks.Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing HVAC systemsUse hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearanceSelect the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications.Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metalConstruct or fabricate parts, using hand tools, according to specifications.Miscellaneous clean-up after repair or installation.Perform additional duties as assigned.Educational/Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver's licensePossession of Journeyman LicenseAt least three (3) years of Sheet Metal Worker Journeyman experience; five (5) years preferred as a Sheet Metal Worker JourneymanCandidates considered for placement in this classification will be subject to multiple Criminal background investigations.THIS IS A FIRST SHIFT POSITION.
