Job description

SUMMARY

A warm and welcoming family located in Senneville, Quebec is seeking an experienced, caring, and professional Nanny to provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for their young child (toddler).

The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the household, ensuring the child's safety, well-being, and daily development while respecting the family's routines, parenting philosophy, and household standards.

This is a long-term opportunity for a dedicated childcare professional who enjoys creating a positive, engaging, and structured environment. The family intends to relocate to the Montreal area in the future, and the successful candidate must consider this change of work location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Childcare & Daily Care
  • Provide attentive supervision and ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Follow established daily routines, including meals, naps, hygiene, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the child.
  • Assist with diapering, potty training, bathing, and dressing as appropriate.
  • Monitor the child's health and promptly communicate any concerns to the parents.
  • Maintain a nurturing, positive, and supportive environment.
Child Development
  • Plan engaging educational, creative, and recreational activities appropriate to the child's age.
  • Encourage language, cognitive, social, and emotional development through play and daily interactions.
  • Promote outdoor activities, physical exercise, and exploration.
  • Support consistent routines and positive behaviour in accordance with the parents' approach.
  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and supervision.
Child-Related Household Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the child.
  • Wash bottles, dishes, and feeding equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the child's bedroom, nursery, play areas, and belongings.
  • Wash, fold, and organize the child's laundry and bedding.
  • Organize toys, books, clothing, and seasonal wardrobe rotations.
  • Maintain child-related supplies and notify the parents when items need replenishing.
Outings & Activities
  • Accompany the child to parks, activities, classes, appointments, and other approved outings.
  • Prepare all necessary supplies for outings.
  • Ensure safe transportation practices at all times.
  • Keep the parents informed regarding schedules and activities when away from home.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Maintain open and regular communication with the parents regarding the child's daily routines, development, and well-being.
  • Report illnesses, injuries, developmental milestones, or any concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the parents to ensure consistency in routines, expectations, and childcare practices.
Professionalism
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all family matters.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, discretion, and excellent judgment.
  • Respect the family's privacy and household standards at all times.
  • Remain actively engaged with the child throughout working hours.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience working as a Nanny or in a similar childcare role within a private household.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong understanding of child safety, routines, and age-appropriate developmental milestones.
  • Patient, nurturing, dependable, and highly organized.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a home with a family dog.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel with the family, when mutually agreed upon.
  • Must have a valid driver's licence with a vehicle.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
