  • Prepare drainage calculations, technical memoranda, and design reports under supervision
  • Develop construction drawings and details using CAD and modeling software
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard tools
  • Support project teams through concept, preliminary, and detailed design phases
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and preparation of design documentation
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to support integrated and efficient design solutions
  • Help respond to agency comments, RFIs, and internal quality control reviews
  • Participate in site visits, data collection, and construction observations as needed
  • Assist with review of shop drawings and contractor submittals
  • Support senior staff during construction administration activities
  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and best practices in all work efforts
  • Actively pursue professional licensure and continuing education opportunities
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • 2-4 years of experience in drainage, stormwater, or civil infrastructure design
  • Internship or co-op experience in consulting or public-sector work preferred
  • Familiarity with drainage and hydrologic/hydraulic software (e.g., Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoDrainage, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of stormwater design criteria and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Strong willingness to learn and take direction
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a positive, problem-solving attitude
At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits. Including, but not limited to:
