General Manager Maintenance Division

In joint venture with LAZ Parking, EcoFleet operates the stand-alone maintenance division supporting the consolidated bussing services contract at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) a fleet of approximately 195 transit buses, cutaways, and support vehicles across CNG, diesel, gasoline, and EV platforms. Position description: The General Manager owns the entire DFW maintenance division both maintenance shops (19th Street and the Rental Car Center), 35 total staff across three shifts running 24/7, and an approximately $5.0M annual operating budget plus parts, tire, and towing pass-throughs. The GM is accountable to the joint venture and to DFW airport administration for fleet availability, PM compliance, cost per mile, and safety performance, and is the maintenance division's primary interface with the LAZ operating General Managers, the airport, and outgoing-operator transition activities through the October 1, 2026 go-live and beyond.

• Ownership full authority over budget, staffing, vendors, and shop operations, backed by national OEM and dealer relationships.
• Support weekly on-site engagement from the Dallas-based National Fleet Director and the national safety and training teams.

General responsibilities

• Own division P&L against the Final 2 budget: wages, payroll, shop operations, and parts/tire/towing pass-throughs; explain variances monthly and drive corrective action.
• Lead the division's leadership team two Assistant General Managers (19th Street and RCC), the Training/QA Manager, and the Parts Manager and set staffing, scheduling, and shift structure across three shifts, seven days a week.
• Deliver the division's core KPIs: preventive maintenance compliance, down/up bus ratio, fleet availability for pull-out, and cost per mile reversing the incumbent's 61% corrective / 39% preventive spend ratio through disciplined PM production and root-cause repair.
• Serve as the maintenance division's face to DFW airport administration: weekly operations and maintenance reporting, customized Fleetio VMS reports, joint inspections, and audit responses.
• Own the transition from the incumbent operator: incumbent technician onboarding, joint bus condition documentation, records and systems handover, and stabilization through the first 90 days after go-live.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships OEM/dealer parts programs, towing and body shop master agreements, outside audit firms, and tooling/equipment suppliers leveraging EcoFleet purchasing power.
• Champion the safety program: enforce lockout/tagout and HV safety, support the safety KPI (95/100 target), and partner with the regional and national safety teams on audits and training compliance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across DOT/TxDMV inspections, CNG and EV maintenance protocols, and airport badging and security requirements.
• Build the culture: recognition programs, technician certification progression, retention of incumbent talent, and development of internal leads into supervisors.

Qualifications

• Proven multi-site fleet maintenance leadership with full budget/P&L ownership at comparable scale ($5M+ operating budget, 30+ staff, 24/7 operations).
• Deep transit bus maintenance knowledge heavy transit (Cummins ISB/CNG), medium-duty cutaways, and EV/HV platforms with credibility on the shop floor.
• Experience running preventive-maintenance-driven operations with VMS platforms (Fleetio or comparable) and telematics (Samsara or comparable).
• Strong client-facing skills; experience reporting to airports, municipalities, or large institutional clients strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT/TxDMV inspection requirements, OSHA shop safety, and alternative fuel (CNG/EV) compliance.
• Valid U.S. driver's license; must pass a federal background check and DFW airport badging requirements. Class B CDL with passenger endorsement preferred.

Education and experience

• 10+ years of progressive fleet maintenance experience, including 5+ years in a senior management role (Director, Senior Maintenance Manager, or GM).
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent operational experience accepted.
• ASE certifications (H-series Transit Bus or T-series Medium/Heavy Truck) and/or ASE Master status a strong plus.

Airport, transit agency, or large contract-maintenance operation experience

Physical Demands:

• Able to work in the elements heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds repetitively.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
