Which jobs can get a TN visa?

The TN visa is available for Canadian and Mexican citizens seeking employment in specific professional roles under the North American Free Trade Agreement. Eligible jobs include accountants, engineers, teachers, scientists, and medical professionals, among others, typically requiring a relevant degree and job offer from a U.S. employer. The visa is designed for positions that require specialized knowledge and a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent credentials.

The 240-day rule for a TN visa refers to the requirement that a TN visa holder must not be outside the U.S. for more than 240 days in a calendar year to maintain their status. Extended absences may be considered a break in employment and could impact visa validity or eligibility for renewal.

Are TN visas harder to get now?

The process for obtaining a TN visa remains consistent, requiring proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship, a job offer in a qualifying profession, and supporting documentation. Changes in immigration policies or processing times can affect application difficulty, but the core requirements for TN visas have not significantly increased in complexity recently.
