Job description

Dentist will provide diagnosis and treatment, with an emphasis on oral surgery, restorative dentistry and removable prosthesis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Making visual examinations of patient's teeth and sound oral diagnostic procedures, enters findings on dental chart and in the patient's medical record.
  • Determining and implementing effective plan of treatment.
  • Locating and restoring carious lesions in teeth.
  • Extracting impacted, infected diseased or problematic teeth.
  • Performing root canal treatment.
  • Making impressions and models of the teeth, jaws and mouth for removable and fixed prosthetic treatment.
  • Treating diseases of the teeth, gums and mouth with appropriate drugs or surgery.
  • Advising patients about appropriate dental health practices.
  • Managing the work of dental hygienists, dental assistants and dental laboratory technicians.
  • Consulting with the heads of other patient services in planning dental treatment to be used for coordination of patient care.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the Dental Director.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an approved dental school.
Position requires a current license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Two years of related experience, preferably in a Community Health Center or Public Health Dentistry, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Excellent post-doctoral opportunity in a state-of-the-art facility!
