Job description

Location: Live in or near Honolulu, O‘ahu, Hawaii

Employment Type: Full-Time

Organization: Independent, Physician-Owned Emergency Medicine Group

About the Opportunity

We are actively recruiting BC/BE Emergency Medicine physicians seeking a long-term career opportunity in Honolulu on the island of O‘ahu—combining clinical excellence, true physician governance, and an exceptional island lifestyle.

This role offers partnership, financial stability, and autonomy within a well-established, independent emergency medicine group, all while living in one of the most vibrant and desirable locations in the world.

Why Join Our Group

  • Democratic, Physician-Owned Organization – no corporate investors; real physician voice and governance
  • True Partnership Track – long-term equity, leadership opportunities, and transparent economics
  • Diverse Clinical Environment – high-acuity tertiary care, community EDs, and broad pathology
  • Commitment to Quality & Risk Management – strong analytics, evidence-based protocols, and peer-driven standards
  • Academic & Community Engagement – University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine affiliation, EM resident education, and opportunities in hyperbaric & dive medicine

Compensation & Benefits

  • Highly Competitive, Productivity-Based Compensation with a Significant Sign-On Bonus
  • Substantial Annual Retirement Contributions
  • 6 Weeks of Blocked Vacation Time Annually
  • 100% Paid Medical, Dental, Vision & Prescription Coverage for physician and family
  • 100% Paid Malpractice with Tail Coverage
  • Paid CME, ACEP dues, licensing, and credentialing
  • 100% Paid Long-Term Disability Stipend & Group Policy
  • Top-Tier State Student Loan Repayment Program (for eligible applicants)

Lifestyle & Location – Honolulu, O‘ahu

O‘ahu offers a rare blend of urban energy and island living, making it ideal for physicians who want both professional depth and lifestyle balance.

  • Beachfront Living: World-class beaches, year-round swimming, surfing, and paddleboarding
  • Outdoor Access: Hiking, snorkeling, diving, and mountain views—minutes from home
  • Cultural & Culinary Scene: Global dining, arts, music, and a rich local culture
  • Convenience: Short commutes, international airport access, and modern infrastructure
  • Family-Friendly: Strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and close-knit island communities

Honolulu delivers the most complete lifestyle in Hawai‘i—combining professional opportunity, cultural depth, and everyday convenience.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with ABEM or AOBEM Certification / Eligibility
  • Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Eligible for or currently holding a Hawai‘i medical license
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, team-based emergency care

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This position offers what is increasingly rare in Emergency Medicine: true partnership, physician autonomy, and long-term stability—paired with an unmatched island lifestyle.

You’ll join a group that has remained independent, democratic, and physician-led for decades, proving that emergency medicine can still be practiced with purpose, balance, and professional respect.
