  • Position: Director of Sales
  • Property: Salt Ranch Nashville (48 Keys)
  • Address: 2914 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207
  • Work Type: On-Site
  • Travel: Less than 10% travel for client engagement, community partnerships, and market sales effort
  • Job Type: Individual Contributor, Full-Time, Salaried, Permanent.
  • Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 USD
  • Bonus Opportunities: up to 50% quarterly, based on quarterly earned wages
  • Leadership & Team Structure: This position reports to General Manager and VP of Sales.
  • Independent Contributor Role: This position does not have direct reports (including administrative support or coordinators). The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient, hands-on professional who can effectively manage priorities, execute projects independently, and drive results with minimal oversight.
  • Meeting & Event Space: Approximately 500 square feet of non-traditional event space located within and adjacent to the restaurant and public areas. Most events range from 10-100 attendees and include social gatherings, private events, restaurant buyouts, and small boutique meetings.
  • Work Schedule & Hours: This is a salaried position and not a traditional Monday-Friday sales role. The Director of Sales must maintain a flexible schedule and attend evening, weekend, and onsite events as business demands. Hours will vary based on the event calendar, group activity, and occupancy needs, while generally averaging a 40-hour workweek and adjusting as necessary to support business needs.

About the Property: Salt Ranch Boutique Hotel is a boutique lifestyle hotel featuring approximately 48 guestrooms and a highly personalized guest experience. The property combines hospitality, food & beverage, and social programming into a unique destination that attracts both travelers and locals. Unlike a traditional hotel with dedicated meeting facilities, the property leverages flexible indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to host social events, private functions, community activations, and boutique corporate gatherings.
About the Restaurant & Event Experience: The hotel is anchored by an on-site restaurant and bar (The Barroom | Bar & Restaurant). It serves as a central gathering place for guests and the local community. Many events take place within or adjacent to the restaurant's public spaces, creating opportunities for restaurant buyouts, social celebrations, food and beverage events, live entertainment, corporate dinners, and unique group experiences. The Director of Sales will play a key role in partnering with hotel and restaurant operations to drive both room revenue and event-related business.
About Remington Hospitality: Remington Hospitality, a U.S.-based, third-party hotel management company founded in 1968, with operations across the United States and the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. In CALA, Remington manages branded and independent properties in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Cayman Islands, with continued regional growth planned. Today, Remington manages 100+ hotels across 30 states and 26 brands, delivering strong financial discipline, brand compliance, and operational accountability while fostering a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on long-term success and professional growth.
About the Position - Director of Sales: This is a unique opportunity to lead all sales efforts for Salt Ranch Nashville, a 50-key boutique lifestyle hotel. As the sole sales professional onsite, the Director of Sales will be responsible for generating room revenue, developing local business partnerships, managing group and social event inquiries, negotiating contracts, and overseeing events from prospecting through execution. This highly visible role requires a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys building business from the ground up, and can independently develop strategies to grow occupancy, increase revenue, and elevate the hotel's presence within the Nashville market. The position works closely with the General Manager and plays a critical role in the overall success of the property.
Career Growth Opportunity
  • Excellent opportunity for an experienced Hotel Sales Manager ready to take the next step into a Director of Sales role.
  • Previous Director of Sales experience is not required; candidates with strong hotel sales fundamentals, proven production success, and leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
  • Ideal for a high-performing sales professional seeking greater ownership, strategic involvement, and direct impact on the success of a unique boutique lifestyle hotel.
  • This role offers the opportunity to lead all sales efforts, develop market strategy, build local partnerships, and work directly with property leadership to drive the hotel's growth and performance.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy, Revenue Generation & Market Growth (40%)
  • Lead and execute the overall sales strategy for Salt Ranch Nashville with a primary focus on increasing guest room revenue and occupancy.
  • Partner with the General Manager to develop creative revenue-generating initiatives aligned with the property's unique boutique positioning.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to increase Sunday-Wednesday occupancy through targeted business development efforts.
  • Maintain accountability for achieving revenue goals, prospecting activity, pipeline growth, and market penetration.
  • Develop strategic partnerships within the Nashville market that generate both room nights and event opportunities.

Room Sales, Local Business Development & Community Engagement (30%)
  • Actively prospect and secure new business through cold calling, networking, local outreach, community involvement, and relationship building.
  • Generate weekday room demand through local corporations, project-based business, contractors, production teams, and extended-stay opportunities.
  • Stay informed of market activity including construction projects, infrastructure improvements, utility work, telecommunications projects, film productions, and other opportunities that generate lodging demand.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, event organizers, entertainment venues, contractors, and community leaders.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador within the Nashville market to strengthen awareness and drive new revenue opportunities.

Group, Social & Event Sales Management (20%)
  • Manage all group, social, and event inquiries from initial lead through execution.
  • Qualify opportunities, negotiate contracts, secure commitments, and coordinate event details.
  • Focus on converting social events into guest room revenue whenever possible.
  • Sell and manage boutique corporate retreats, hotel buyouts, restaurant buyouts, private events, pool events, community gatherings, and social celebrations.
  • Develop effective qualification strategies to prioritize profitable opportunities and maximize productivity.

Event Oversight, Schedule Flexibility & Individual Contribution (10%)
  • Operate as the property's sole sales leader with full ownership of the sales cycle from prospecting through post-event follow-up.
  • Provide onsite event oversight to ensure successful execution, guest satisfaction, and operational alignment.
  • As part of a lean team of approximately eight (8) employees, this role requires a hands-on approach to event oversight, including coordinating setup, managing vendors, overseeing event execution, resolving guest issues, and ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
  • This is not a traditional Monday-Friday sales position. Evening and weekend event oversight is a regular expectation, and schedule flexibility is required based on business demands.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule aligned with the event calendar, occupancy needs, and group activity while averaging approximately a 40-hour workweek.
  • Partner closely with hotel operations and the onsite restaurant/bar team to support event success and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, CRM activity, and sales reporting.
  • Thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment with no direct reports, coordinators, or administrative support.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of hotel sales experience with proven success in room sales, group sales, catering sales, or event sales.
  • Previous hotel sales experience is required.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, including prospecting, lead qualification, contract negotiation, and account management.
  • Social sales, catering, conference services, event detailing, or boutique hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong hunter mentality with demonstrated success generating business through networking, prospecting, and direct outreach.
  • Experience operating successfully in a highly hands-on environment with limited support resources.
  • Strong preference for local Nashville candidates with established market relationships and community connections.
  • Understanding of local market drivers and the ability to identify opportunities related to construction projects, infrastructure developments, utility work, local events, entertainment venues, and extended-stay lodging needs.
  • Self-starter who can work independently, prioritize effectively, and execute with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, organizational, relationship-building, and time management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining highly involved in daily sales execution.
  • Experience selling boutique hotels, lifestyle hotels, restaurants, event venues, or experiential hospitality concepts preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a lean environment where the Director of Sales serves as the primary revenue generator, event sales leader, and market representative for the property.
