Job description

Summer is our busiest season.
This is Big Sky Country for a reason-summer here doesn't feel small. Longer days, rising tourism, outdoor recreation, and a seasonal influx of visitors all contribute to a significant increase in our patient care volume throughout Northwest Montana. We are seeking experienced Progressice Care nurses to join us for a 13-week seasonal assignment and help care for our community when demand is at its highest.

Our Mission: Quality, compassionate care for all.

Our Vision: Reimagine health care through connection, service and innovation.

Our Core Values: Be Kind | Trust and Be Trusted | Work Together | Strive for Excellence.

At Logan Health, seasonal RNs are not viewed as temporary help-they are fully integrated members of the Progressive Care Unit team. From day one, you will work alongside experienced nurses, providers, therapists, case managers, and support staff to deliver exceptional care to patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, renal, and medical conditions requiring advanced monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.

Why consider this position?
This is a unique chance to elevate your nursing career with a full-time commitment for 13 weeks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Seasonal RN in our PCU, you'll work with high-acuity patients, tackling complex conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and respiratory issues.
You'll also play a critical role in post-operative cardiac care, handling heart catheterizations, pacemakers, and more, while gaining experience in advanced respiratory and kidney disease care. Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of prior experience working in a unit that provides care for patients with similar needs.

About our area:

We are located in the heart of the Flathead Valley, just 30 minutes from Glacier National Park, and just a short drive to two ski resorts and Flathead Lake. Our area offers unparalleled outdoor recreation and stunning mountain views. Experience the outdoor lifestyle only Northwest Montana can offer!

Seasonal Position Details:

  • Seasonal Assignment Details

  • 13-week seasonal assignment

  • 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts)

  • 15% seasonal premium pay

  • $1,000 bonus after 30 days

  • $1,000 bonus after 60 days

  • $2,000 completion bonus

What We're Looking For

  • Current Montana RN license or compact license eligibility

  • 2+ years of Critical Care experience

  • NIHSS certification preferred

  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and prioritization skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

🌿 Seasonal Nursing in Northwest Montana - Where Your Work and Your Time Off Both Matter

As a seasonal nurse here, you're not just filling a staffing need-you're stepping into a community that experiences significant seasonal growth driven by tourism, recreation, and regional demand. The work is fast-paced, meaningful, and deeply appreciated.

Just as importantly, your time off becomes part of the experience itself.

Each assignment aligns with Montana's natural rhythm-from peak summer energy to the quiet beauty of late fall.

🎃 August 10 - November 7 | Deep Fall in the Rockies

This is the "local season"-when Montana slows down and feels more like home than destination.

  • Missoula's fall arts season, including theater, live music, and cultural programming

  • Early snowfall dusting higher elevations near Glacier National Park

  • Small-town evenings in places like Bigfork and Whitefish

  • A quieter pace across trails, roads, and outdoor spaces

🍁 August 24 - November 21 | Late Fall Transition Into Early Winter

This final stretch offers a rare opportunity to experience Montana's seasonal shift in real time.

When you're not caring for patients, you might be:

  • Watching the first snowfall settle into the surrounding mountains and Glacier National Park

  • Exploring holiday markets and seasonal community events beginning to appear in local towns

  • Enjoying Missoula's indoor concert, theater, and arts season

  • Taking quiet walks on uncrowded trails and scenic drives through the valley

  • Experiencing a strong sense of local community as the pace slows and winter approaches

🍂 September 7 - December 5 | Peak Fall Into the Holiday Season

Experience Northwest Montana during one of its most beautiful and beloved seasons.

When you're not caring for patients, you might be:

  • Taking in vibrant fall colors throughout Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley

  • Exploring local harvest festivals, farmers markets, and seasonal events

  • Hiking among golden larch trees and enjoying crisp mountain air on uncrowded trails

  • Visiting charming mountain towns decorated for the holidays

  • Experiencing the first snowfall of the season and the anticipation of winter recreation

September 21 - December 19 | Fall Colors, First Snowfall & Holiday Magic

This assignment offers a front-row seat to Montana's transition from autumn to winter.

When you're not caring for patients, you might be:

  • Exploring Glacier National Park during peak fall color season

  • Enjoying scenic drives framed by golden tamaracks, snow-capped peaks, and changing leaves

  • Attending holiday festivals, tree lightings, and community celebrations throughout the Flathead Valley

  • Experiencing the opening weeks of ski and snowboard season at Whitefish Mountain Resort

  • Discovering the cozy charm of Montana's small towns during the holiday season
