Job description

Optometrist Opportunity at The Eye Care Team

The Eye Care Team is a premium provider of optometric services, specialty eye care, and high-quality products. If you're an energetic Optometrist looking to practice full-scope and medical-oriented optometry with a well-respected business, look no further. The Eye Care Team is searching for its newest team member to join a talented group of Optometrists and is offering an excellent compensation package.

The Eye Care Team is located in Spokane and Chewelah, Washington. The area offers a combination of natural wonderlands and a little big city feel with all the amenities. Boasting stunning natural surroundings and a climate that cycles through all four seasons, there's plenty of outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy. From hiking, fishing, camping, and boating in the summer to skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, these are just a few of the explorations residents can experience. The area is also an affordable, convenient, and relaxing place to call home and raise a family. With everything this vibrant region offers and its proximity to the most scenic destinations in the West makes it a beautiful place to practice and live.

As a full-time employee of the practice, you'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • Competitive base pay
  • Health insurance
  • Three weeks paid vacation
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • License and fees reimbursements
  • Continuing education stipend
  • No weekend hours

Established in 1978, this private practice quickly became the leading eye care provider in the Spokane area. After opening a second location in Chewelah, The Eye Care Team has cared for generations of families in Eastern Washington. The practice lives by its mission to improve the quality of life for every patient we see, every time we see them. In addition to offering full-scope optometry, the doctors specialize in medical optometry, including dry eye therapy, myopia control, eye disease diagnosis and management, specialty contact lenses, and surgical co-management.

The Eye Care Team is at the forefront of the industry's latest technology and uses state-of-the-art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The practice is well-appointed with automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology, including ocular coherence tomography, visual fields, ultra-wide field camera, iCare Tonometer, LipiFlow, and IPL. Patients will enjoy shopping at the large optical boutique that features high-end frames—no other optical department in the Chewelah area compares to The Eye Care Team.

The Eye Care Team is seeking an Optometrist passionate about providing the highest level of patient-centric care. In this role, you will work 2 days per week at the team's Spokane location, and 2 days a week at our Chewelah location. You'll perform routine vision exams and medical eye exams, recommend vision-enhancing products and promote good eye health through patient education. On average, 16 to 24 patients are cared for daily—scheduled for 20 or 30-minute appointments—a scribe is available to support doctors during 20-minute appointments. The practice is looking for a full-scope practitioner who enjoys practicing medical-oriented eye care. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with no weekend hours. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team that values a supportive environment where everyone thrives.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will want to continuously develop skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and be willing to integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Optometry license in the state of Washington
