Mesa seeks a Substation Project Engineer whose primary functions are to scope, plan, manage, and coordinate substation projects with the objective of delivering successful projects by ensuring that project goals and objectives are achieved while all business processes and applicable procedures are followed. The position requires a working knowledge of power industry design and construction practices, standards, and processes as well as the use of independent judgment, and enhanced verbal and written communication skills.

The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum, and a minimum of five years of relevant project experience.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university
  • 5 - 10 years experience
  • PMP certification is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform broad range of project supervisory responsibilities over others
  • Possess solid verbal and written communications skills. Ability to coordinate with and interface with contractors, vendors, engineers, colleagues, and other electric utilities personnel at a high professional level
  • Ability to perform project related quality reviews 
  • Display strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively with clients, peers, and affiliates
  • Strong capability in Microsoft Word, Excel, scheduling software and possess working knowledge of corporate accounting practices and business operations
  • Willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa and client safety requirements
  • Ability to travel for project requirements

Annual Salary Range:

$123,120 - $158,754

The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.
