Job description

A warm, active family in Arvada, Colorado is seeking an experienced Private Housekeeper to take full ownership of the cleaning, laundry, and overall upkeep of their 7,200-square-foot home.

The household consists of two adults, four children ages 3, 5, 9, and 11, and a live-in au pair. The home is busy and lived-in, but the environment is warm, organized, and low-drama. The au pair is fully responsible for childcare, allowing the housekeeper to remain focused on the home and household responsibilities.
The family is looking for one trusted professional who can provide continuity, consistency, and long-term care of the residence.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed cleaning and general upkeep throughout the home
- Maintain the kitchen and high-traffic common areas throughout the workday
- Complete rotational deep cleaning so all areas of the home are regularly maintained to a high standard
- Take full ownership of the household laundry from start to finish
- Wash, dry, fold, iron, steam, and properly put away clothing and household linens
- Change and maintain bed linens and towels
- Organize closets, drawers, cabinets, and household storage areas
- Complete seasonal organization and household reset projects
- Sweep and maintain the front porch, patio, outdoor furniture, and entry areas
- Monitor household supplies and communicate when products need to be replenished
- Identify and proactively communicate maintenance concerns or household issues
- Coordinate respectfully and efficiently with the family and live-in au pair
- Assist with groceries, errands, deliveries, and vendor coordination
- Maintain discretion and respect the family’s privacy at all times
This position does not include childcare.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced private or estate housekeeper who has independently cared for a private residence rather than working solely as part of a rotating cleaning crew.
Candidates should be reliable, discreet, self-directed, detail-oriented, proactive, calm around children and household activity, highly skilled in detailed cleaning and laundry, and interested in a stable, long-term position.
Requirements
- Previous professional private-household or estate housekeeping experience
- Strong professional references
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
- Willingness to use a personal vehicle for work-related errands with mileage reimbursement
- Comfortable working in an active home with children
- Local to the Arvada area, as relocation assistance is not available
