You will work closely with Product, Architecture, Solutions, and engineering teams across Truveta to translate customer and product needs into scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions. This role spans application, data, and infrastructure layers and provides the opportunity to own meaningful backend capabilities from design through production operations.
This position requires innovative problem-solving to design high-performance, cost-effective data services capable of handling large-scale datasets. The efficiency, reliability, and security of these services are essential to advancing our mission to save lives with data.
We are seeking engineers who:

  • Have knowledge and experience in using and developing distributed systems, data pipelines, and APIs
  • Engineer systems for scalability, resilience, observability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Build secure services by default, with careful attention to authentication, authorization, entitlements, secrets management, privacy, dependency security, and least-privilege access.
  • Take ownership of services through design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Work effectively with Product, Architecture, Solutions, and engineering teams across Truveta to deliver end-to-end customer scenarios.
  • Contribute to deployment automation, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production reliability.
  • Will adhere to Truveta principles in support of ethical innovation
  • Willingness to commit to ongoing training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security

Key Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience building production-quality software.
  • Experience developing software in one or more programming languages (Ex. C#, Python, Java) and a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend services and APIs in production.
  • Experience with distributed systems, data pipelines, or large-scale data-processing systems.
  • Experience working with relational databases and NoSQL data stores.
  • Understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, API design, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting production systems.
  • Experience with modern cloud-native platforms; Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code is preferred.
