Job description

METECS is an engineering and applied technology company that provides high-fidelity simulation and software development for NASAโ€™s Johnson Space Center. We are seeking a Flight Software Engineer to support NASAโ€™s SR-1 Freedom vehicle. Your support of this effort will occur throughout the software development life cycle from software systems engineering, design and development through testing, verification and validation, and certification. An ideal candidate must have a strong interest in software development and the initiative and aptitude for handsโ€‘on problem solving and troubleshooting. This position requires on-site presence at NASAโ€™s Johnson Space Center.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Good working knowledge of C, C++, and Python
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Software development in a Linux environment
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with testing and verification
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1553
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink
  • NASA Core flight software (cFS) experience
  • Experience with design of embedded systems
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (VxWorks, Green Hils, etc)

Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
