Job Summary
- Operate AOI equipment to inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
- Review and verify AOI inspection results, including false calls and confirmed defects
- Identify defects such as missing components, misalignment, polarity issues, and solder defects
- Perform manual inspection when required to validate AOI findings
- Escalate quality concerns and trends to Quality and Engineering teams
- Make minor program adjustments or optimize inspection parameters (as trained)
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with work instructions, IPC standards, and quality procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection area
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small defects
- Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assemblies
- Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Good computer skills for operating AOI systems and logging data
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quality judgments
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Required Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in SMT manufacturing, inspection, or electronics assembly preferred
- Experience with AOI equipment (e.g., Koh Young, etc.) is a plus
Licenses, Certifications, etc.
- IPC-A-610 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain - paid training provided)
- J-STD-001 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain - paid training provided)
