Responsibilities

As an Installer III, you are responsible for reading and interpreting the proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
  • Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
  • Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities
  • Possess familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment
  • Have the ability to utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
  • Bring Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site
  • Act in a supervisory manner and provide guidance to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools
  • Possess familiarity with customer installation and quality standards, including IP72202
  • Provide for self-quality check of all portions of the job responsible prior to sign-off
  • Assemble, modify, install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment, and cable ladder
  • Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment
  • Cut and terminate single, multi-strand, and coax cable with power lugs, multi-pin connectors, and BNC connectors, stencil installed equipment, and terminations
  • Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested
  • Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly; Assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area
  • Dress appropriately for the job environment
  • Be proficient in all phases of installation and testing of equipment to provide for progression in the business
  • Review installation specifications

  • You have the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses
  • You have the ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs)
  • You are proficient in customer specifications and standards
  • You possess excellent communication skills, speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills
  • You have excellent time management; you organize and plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and develop realistic action plans
  • You are dependable, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and keep commitments
