Live Video Director

Location: Granite Bay Campus

Reports to: Production Director

FLMA: Non-exempt

Job Status: Full-time


The Live Video Director provides creative vision, leadership, and execution for all live and broadcast video. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a cohesive broadcast standard for all worship services, conferences, student ministries, and special events. The Live Video Director collaborates closely with Worship, Creative, and campus Production teams to design, program, and deliver high-impact live and broadcast experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Provide video vision and oversight for the main auditorium and auxiliary environments.
  • Oversee live multi-camera video production for weekend services, conferences, and special events.
  • Establish and maintain video standards and visual consistency across all rooms.
  • Oversee video system design, infrastructure planning, and documentation.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and lead a team of video volunteers.
  • Schedule to ensure adequate coverage for all services and events for all video team roles.
  • Manage and troubleshoot all live video systems, switchers, routers, and graphic/playback/record machines.
  • Partner with Worship, Midweek Ministries, and Creative teams to translate live/broadcast video vision.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Director.

Primary Strengths

  • Advanced live multi-camera directing skills.
  • Proficiency in Ross video switchers.
  • Experience in complex live or broadcast production environments with demonstrated excellence in pre-production, show programming, and technical precision.
  • Working knowledge of video routing, fiber, signal flow, and system architecture.
  • Proficient in Ross Dashboard, Companion, and Renewed Vision applications.
  • Working knowledge of Blackmagic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across video systems and routing.
  • Strong leadership ability with experience developing volunteer teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in live video production or broadcast environments.
  • Strong camera, switching, graphics, and live broadcast system knowledge.
  • Experience leading teams in a church or live event environment.
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solution-oriented under pressure.
  • Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the church.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced environments with changing needs.

Portfolio Requirement

Applicants must submit a portfolio or personal website showcasing past work. We'd like to see:

  • A website or online portfolio with examples of past live and broadcast work.
  • Recorded live services, broadcasts, or events you directed (recorded comm/service footage)whenever possible.
  • Photos of live productions, control rooms, or setups you've led or been part of.
  • Any other examples of past work that demonstrate your directing, programming, and technical range.

Physical Requirements

  • This role requires the ability to bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Time Commitment

  • Full-time, up to 40 hours per week - must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
