Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

WFLD/WPWR is searching for a versatile Per Diem Broadcast Technician to fill key production roles and assist in preparing material for our broadcasts, cutting across various functions such as master control, audio, camera, transmission operations, and live broadcast equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a host of production functions including audio mixing, robotic camera operation, and graphic playout, as well as master control and transmission operations.
  • Operate live broadcast equipment with an in-depth understanding of live production, particularly news.
  • Function effectively within a control room environment, maintaining critical thinking under pressure and adherence to time constraints.
  • Collaborate seamlessly as part of a dynamic production team.
  • Engage professionally with all members of staff and management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent mandatory; further education in relevant fields preferred.
  • At least 3 years of recent experience in broadcast technician roles within medium to major market sizes.
  • Excellent communication and strong technical capabilities in systems, equipment, and software.
  • A friendly demeanor, cooperative spirit, positive outlook, and prudent judgment.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and move as necessary for the role.
  • Openness to flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and all shifts in a 24-hour news cycle, as well as overtime and holidays.
