Description
The Remote Radiologist is responsible for interpreting diagnostic imaging studies from a remote setting using advanced teleradiology technology. This role supports nationwide imaging needs with timely and accurate reporting, contributing directly to high-quality patient care without the need for onsite presence. It enables flexibility while maintaining diagnostic excellence and clinical collaboration through virtual platforms.
Job Duties:
• Interpret a high volume of diagnostic studies remotely, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities.
• Deliver prompt, accurate, and well-documented reports to referring clinicians across multiple locations.
• Communicate critical and time-sensitive findings directly with providers via phone or secure messaging systems.
• Collaborate with technologists and support staff virtually to ensure protocol adherence and image quality.
• Use advanced PACS, RIS, and cloud-based teleradiology systems to manage and review cases.
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and virtual team meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date licensure and compliance documentation for multiple states, as required.
• Adhere to all HIPAA and data security standards while working in a remote environment.
• Contribute to a consistent workflow with no weekend or evening shifts required.
• Support a culture of collaboration and excellence across geographically distributed teams.
Education and Experience:
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Radiology Residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR or equivalent).
• Active and unrestricted medical licenses in applicable practice states (multi-state licensure preferred).
• Prior teleradiology or remote work experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Experience
• Proficiency in remote diagnostic tools, PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills in a virtual work environment.
• Strong written communication for clear and concise report generation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and teleradiology-specific data privacy protocols.
• Comfortable with high-volume caseloads and maintaining quality standards.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Technical literacy to troubleshoot basic remote workstation issues.
• Familiarity with ACR guidelines, structured reporting, and clinical decision support tools.
