The Finance and Operations Analyst plays a critical role in helping leaders understand business performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions. By combining financial analysis with operational insight, this role helps improve reporting, strengthen planning, and support the sustainable growth of the organization.
Success in this role means delivering accurate financial analysis, maintaining trusted data, improving financial processes, and providing meaningful insights that help leaders make confident business decisions.
The Role
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Finance and Operations Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and operational analysis across Really Great Reading. This role partners closely with Finance and Operations leadership to transform financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, identifying trends, building financial models, and improving business processes. They are equally comfortable analyzing financial performance, maintaining data integrity, and collaborating across departments to help leaders understand the story behind the numbers.
What You'll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Budget-to-actual variance analysis
  • Financial reporting
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Financial modeling
  • Trend analysis

Operational Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Ad hoc financial and operational analysis
  • Identify process improvements
  • Improve reporting accuracy

Data Integrity & Business Support
  • Maintain finance and operations data
  • Support leadership decision-making

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, purchasing, or a related analytical role
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with financial modeling
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience in SaaS or Education
