Job description

General Responsibilities:

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment to support the site's business goals and objectives.

Examples of Key Activities:

Job Requirements:

  • All work must be completed following applicable safety requirements
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple preventative maintenance needs such as greasing/lubricating bearings, changing filters, etc.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, PM's and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Work with Computerized Maintenance Management System with input of maintenance results/history, review of BOM parts, history, and scheduled WO.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. During troubleshooting there is a possibility of live voltage of various levels that must be avoided. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.Use of appropriate PPE including steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and additional equipment as required to minimize the hazard. Some travel between the two Dimex locations may be required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting with demonstrated mechanical skills in a professional or personal capacity OR completion of a mechanical trades certificate or degreed program is required.
  • Experience or training of electrical maintenance is an added benefit.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills
