Kaiva Services is seeking a Data Center Technician

Position Summary

This role supports work in mission-critical environments. Nationwide travel may be required. Military experience is valued for this role; veterans are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Low Voltage/Data Center Technicians to support government facilities, hyperscale data centers, and mission-critical infrastructure projects across the United States.

This position is ideal for technicians who take pride in high-quality workmanship, professionalism, safety, and technical excellence in fast-paced environments where precision and reliability matter.

Candidates must be capable of maintaining professionalism in secure and high-security environments while delivering high-quality installations under strict deadlines and operational standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A and fiber optic cabling

  • Perform fiber splicing, backbone installation, rack and stack, cable pathway installation, and equipment mounting

  • Support CCTV, access control, telecommunications, and network infrastructure systems

  • Work with Cisco, Juniper, VoIP, Avaya, and Ethernet systems (as applicable)

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in mission-critical environments

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and scope documentation

  • Perform testing, certification, troubleshooting, and cable management activities

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Low Voltage/Data Center Technician in commercial or industrial environments

  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking, telecommunications systems, fiber optics, and data center operations

  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely

  • Ability to work independently and in team environments

  • Knowledge of NEC standards related to low voltage installations

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in secure facilities and mission-critical environments

Minimum Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in mission-critical environments

  • Knowledge of containment systems

  • Experience working in live environments

  • Understanding of ESD protection procedures

  • Familiarity with MOP, SOP, and EOP processes

  • Structured cabling installations

  • Fiber optic installations and splicing

  • Data center infrastructure deployments

  • Security and access control systems

  • CCTV systems

  • Telecommunications infrastructure

  • Government or military project experience preferred

  • Experience in hyperscale or live data center environments preferred

Safety & Compliance Requirements
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements

  • Follow customer security protocols and data center operational procedures

  • Follow Lockout/Tagout awareness procedures

  • Maintain confidentiality standards in secure environments

Preferred Certifications
