SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking experienced Pipe Foremen, Equipment Operators, Pipelayers and Laborers to support our growing Utilities crews. These positions are based out of our York, PA office, with work primarily in the State College PA area. Initial training will take place in York.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in their trade and a solid understanding of underground utility work, including trenching and pipeline safety. These are full-time positions with steady work and opportunities for advancement for motivated individuals.


Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PIPE FOREMAN

  • Minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 4 to 6 individuals
  • Supervise the installation of new pipes in trench for natural gas pipelines and service lines.
  • Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors
  • Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications
  • Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job
  • Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs
  • Job Site Hazard Recognition and Safety Compliance
  • Equipment Maintenance and Operation as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

  • Excavate trenches for new pipes for natural gas pipelines and service lines.
  • Backfill trenches, load materials, and manage trench boxes as needed.
  • Operate equipment safely following company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance on equipment, including greasing and checking fluids, to ensure optimal operation.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities.
  • Carry out other related duties as required to complete project tasks.

PIPELAYER

  • Install and replace underground pipe in open trenches.
  • Join pipe and make service connections.
  • Perform live pipeline taps and tie-ins.
  • Identify and mitigate job site hazards.
  • Operate non-CDL dump trucks and service trucks.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.


LABORER

  • Assisting with job site pipeline installation operations.
  • Use of required hand tools.
  • Operating non-CDL dump trucks and service trucks.
  • Daily clean up of job site.


REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience with pipe installation.
    • Prior experience with backhoes and excavators is preferred.
    • Knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
    • Physical ability to lift, bend, carry, and perform other essential tasks of the role.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol test.
    • Strong punctuality and dependability.
    • Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
