Job description:

Chipton-Ross is actively seeking experiencedย First-Class Electricians (Electrical Journeymen)ย to support a major shipbuilding program in Pascagoula, MS. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-demand, hands-on environment supporting the construction and maintenance of advanced marine systems.

Per Diem: Available for those that live over 75 miles with valid utility bill.

Key Responsibilities

As a First-Class Electrician, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintainingย shipboard electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and electronic components
  • Reading and interpretingย blueprints, schematics, and marine drawingsย (metric & standard)
  • Routing and terminating cables, installing equipment, and ensuring system functionality
  • Utilizing variousย hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
  • Supporting ship construction in dynamic environments, includingย heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
  • Working flexible shifts (day, night, weekends) based on production demands
  • Maintaining strict adherence toย safety standards and procedures

Note: Hiring process includes a written and hands-on skill assessment

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimumย 4 years of experienceย inย commercial, industrial, or marine electrical work
  • Ability to read and interpretย technical drawings and blueprints
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications

  • At leastย 1 year of shipboard electrical experience, including systems such as:
  • Power distribution
  • Radar / sonar
  • Navigation systems
  • Internal communications

Work Schedule

  • Standardย 5/40 workweek
  • Availability required forย 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
