Job description


You will be the Crate Packer for the Production Planning and Control team. This role is responsible for crating, packing, and preparing materials, parts, assemblies, and tooling for shipment in a manner that ensures protection, compliance, and safe transport.
The Crate Packer supports both routine and non standard packing operations by determining packaging requirements, building or modifying crates when needed, and preparing materials for a variety of shipping conditions. This role is critical to ensuring outgoing material is properly protected, handled, and prepared to meet operational and transportation requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Perform routine crating and packing operations for materials, parts, assemblies, tooling, and other items designated for shipment
• Prepare non standard crates, boxes, fixtures, braces, and other custom packaging solutions when standard packaging cannot be used
• Determine packaging requirements from specifications, blueprints, work instructions, oral instructions, or knowledge of the materials being shipped and shipping conditions
• Package materials by blocking, tying down, padding, securing, bracing, banding, or other appropriate methods to prevent damage during shipment and handling
• Prepare materials, assemblies, parts, and tooling for special shipment requirements
• Coordinate loading and unloading of unusual or oversized items requiring special handling techniques
• Operate forklifts and support the loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing trucks
• Use standard hand tools, power woodworking tools, and banding equipment to build, modify, and secure crates and packaging materials
• Inspect packaging and crating work to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and shipping requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all applicable safety and operational procedures
• Support material movement and shipping readiness in coordination with warehousing, transportation, and production support teams

Basic Qualifications
• Experience working in packing, crating, shipping, warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, or production environment
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, or woodworking tools in a work setting
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, blueprints, or verbal instructions
• Ability to perform physical material handling activities, including lifting, securing, packing, loading, and unloading material
• Ability to operate or obtain certification to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Ability to successfully obtain and maintain all required health and physical assessment testing for the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to package materials in a way that prevents damage and supports safe transport
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and support changing operational priorities
• Ability to work full time onsite in Camden, AR

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $39,200 - $69,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
