Job description

Do you want to help reshape productivity software for tomorrow's consumers and creators? Are you interested in creating amazing user experiences on macOS, iOS and iPadOS, and visionOS? Do you have a passion for code that is as elegant as the output that it produces? The Graphics team in Apple's Productivity Apps group is looking for an engineer to help build the future of visual productivity in Apple Creator Suite. The Graphics team drives exciting new graphics and drawing features that assist and inspire people in apps like Freeform, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages, and across the rest of Apple Creator Suite. We're also responsible for key infrastructure across the entire stack, operating everywhere from the low-level persistence layers to our cloud technologies to the interface and presentation level that our users see every time they open one of our apps.
Description
In the job you'll; Collaborate effectively with other engineers, human interface designers, marketing teams, and content producers to brainstorm, prototype and ship new interactions and visual capabilities and enhance existing ones; Architect and build new infrastructural components that encapsulate platform complexity, helping other teams building visual productivity features focus on their own components; Develop new interactions and visual capabilities that broaden our users' capabilities and support their best work Make good use of documentation, IDEs, debuggers and other tools in understanding the large code base which forms the underpinnings of our products; Write easy-to-understand new code, and work to fix existing bugs and make architectural improvements that resist them; Keep our endlessly creative customers in mind at all times, delighting them while supporting their best work.
Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency with Swift or Objective-C
Proficiency in Python or another scripting language
Skilled with object-oriented design
Experience with Metal, CoreGraphics, or other 2D graphics environments
Demonstrated experience planning and delivering software projects with and for cross-functional teams
Ability to communicate clearly-both verbally and in writing-and build trust across business lines
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Past experience building software for macOS
Experience working in large industrial code bases with large teams
Demonstrated skill at understanding non-technical users' needs and developing appropriate solutions
