Job Summary (List Format):
- Provide specialized production support for a large, highly available mainframe storage environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Dell EMC Mainframe Enablers (MFE), Geographically Dispersed Disaster Restart (GDDR), and SRDF replication/recovery in production environments.
- Handle GDDR/MFE automation failures, replication drops, and interrupted or failed recovery processes, including manual intervention when automation stops mid-process.
- Coordinate recovery actions and restore mainframe replication safely, offering array-side expertise and mainframe-specific guidance during incidents.
- Perform device and consistency group cleanup/reconditioning, as well as script backup, restart, bypass, or manual completion as needed.
- Support host-side recovery processes resulting from array-side issues and determine safe conditions for resuming replication.
- Participate in live technical bridge calls with clients, infrastructure teams, and vendors during major (Sev 1/Sev 2) incidents, providing clear and actionable recovery recommendations.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with primary and backup coverage, responding remotely to critical incidents.
- Analyze logs, command output, configurations, case histories, and runbooks to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Document support procedures, known issues, and escalation paths; facilitate environment familiarization and knowledge transfer within the team.
- Isolate technical problems for escalation to Dell engineering when necessary, but not responsible for product defects or vendor-only fixes.
- Required hands-on experience with Dell EMC MFE, GDDR (preferably 6.x), SRDF/S, SRDF/A, AutoSwap, Symmetrix CLI, zDP, FICON/Fibre Channel, VMAX 950F, and/or PowerMax 8500.
- Must have a LinkedIn profile for candidate submission.
