The YMCA of the Roses in York is seeking enthusiastic Swim Instructors to teach essential water safety and swimming skills to participants of all ages. In this role, you will lead group and private lessons in a safe, supportive environment while helping swimmers build confidence and develop lifelong skills in the water.We're looking for individuals who are energetic, patient, and passionate about teaching and water safety. Both experienced instructors and newly certified candidates are encouraged to apply.ScheduleEvening shifts availableSaturday morningsThis position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, sharing their love of swimming, and making a positive impact in the community-one lesson at a time. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings when requested. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:CollaborationDeveloping Self & OthersInclusion QUALIFICATIONS:Swim Instructor IMust have or obtain CPR Pro and First Aid certification Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.Obtain Mandated Reporter Clearance. High School Diploma3 years teaching swim lessons experience OR completion of YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSLI) Training. High School DiplomaMeet all requirements for Level II5 years of experience teaching swim lessons3 years of experience supervising a staff teamWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
