Our health services are designed to help people live healthier lives.

Accordingly, Widescope is supporting multi-year modernization initiative to support its mission, and the Sr. Data Engineer will play a vital role in this effort?designing, developing, testing, and monitoring scalable, secure cloud-based applications and services using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The AWS Cloud Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and architectures using AWS services like Redshift, Glue, S3, and Quicksight, while ensuring performance, security, and cost-efficiency. This role requires strong experience in data engineering, cloud technologies, and collaboration across technical and business teams, with preferred skills in DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

MUST HAVE DATA ENGINEER EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures on AWS.
  • Implement data ingestion, transformation, and processing solutions using AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, and Quicksight.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to refine data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Make data available for the reporting and analytics teams.
  • Produce scalable, replicable code and engineering solutions that help automate repetitive data management tasks.
  • Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, security and cost-efficiency.
  • Optimize and manage data storage solutions, including data lakes and data warehouses.
  • Maintain high quality documentation of data definitions, transformations, and processes to ensure data governance and security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical team.
  • Mentor other data engineers; perform code reviews.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments
  • Experience with CI/CD and test automation (Playwright, Cucumber, JMeter)
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code supporting technologies
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Less framework
  • Basic understanding of HIPAA, PHI, PII
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration management
  • Basic understanding of networking and internet protocols
  • Basic understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability tools e.g. Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, App Insights.
  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow incident management intake flow.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design.
