Job description

Live-in Personal Attendant

Experienced Live-in Caregiver / CA Personal Attendant– Top Pay.

Grandma Joan is the nation's top household employer recruiter service that specializes in 24/7 live-in caregivers. We do nothing else. No hourly jobs, no 12-hour shifts, only full-time live-ins. Since 2010 families have paid us to find, screen, vet, and staff their household live-in care positions with experienced live-ins, across the USA.

Live-in caregivers love our clients – who have one of the highest retention rates in the nation.

Our average client employs their live-in for >1 year, and some for 5+ years.

The Position: Long-term LIVE-IN
  • Care location: Walnut Grove (Sacramento Area) CA
  • Care recipient: Woman
  • Care needs: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)
  • Mobility: Walker
  • Non-care needs: IADLs, medication reminders, meal prep, companionship, driving, pet-care (dog) etc..
  • Schedule: Six day live-in. Possible week off every 6 months for vacation/respite.
The Requirements:
  • Must have already had at least two verifiable live-in care jobs, with one lasting 6 months or longer
  • Must have strong recommendations from at least 2+ previous home care clients, with at least one being from a live-in position that lasted more than 6 months.
  • Be an easy-to-understand, great communicator.
  • Be dog-friendly
  • Have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive the client around in their car.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of verifiable ADL experience for a paying employer
  • Be a self-motivated problem-solver by nature. Someone who requires little to no supervision to handle most new problems, excluding emergencies.
  • Be US-based, and if you are not a US citizen, you will need proof of work authorization if hired.
  • Pass a background and drug test if hired.
  • Be interested in a long-term, full-time, live-in position with one household.
The Benefits:
  • $135,000-$145,000 per year depending on hours worked.
  • Rent-free furnished bedroom and bathroom in her first floor condo.

Interviews are by Zoom video. The employer will contribute towards your transportation to their location if you get the job.

Process: 1. Fill out an application. You will move on to the next stage if you meet the job requirements. 2. Pass an 8-question phone screening interview with us. 3. Submit 2+ live-in care references that we can verify. If your live-in references are both very strong, you will move on to the next stage. 4. Have a Zoom interview with the family's recruiter. They are working to find the top 3 candidates for our client to interview. 5. Directly interview the family via Zoom. This is your time to shine and to ask questions about their specific needs and desired live-in schedule. 6. If they choose you, you will get a written job offer to consider. If you accept, you will need to move in with them by the start date (usually 2 weeks after being hired).

We do not employ or co-employ any live-in. We are 3rd party recruiters that specialize in fulfilling long-term live-in positions with families. The family is the employer and pays you directly through a payroll service. All pay is on the books as a W2 employee. You negotiate all terms/schedules/duties/pay with the family, not us.
