Crouseโ€™s Madison Irving Surgery Center (MI)ย team is hiring aย Registered Nurse (RN).ย  The Outpatient Surgery PACU RN oversees patient monitoring, evaluation and care interventions of the pre and post surgical patients in a one day surgery center.ย 

Pay Range: $39.78ย - $51.50 an hour based on experienceย 

up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced RNs!

Available Schedule(s): Part-time 20 hours/week -7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm, 9:00am-5:30pm & other shifts as neededย  Monday-Friday

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
  • Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
  • Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
  • Utilizes and engages in evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Requirements:

  • Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
    • For RNsย licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelorโ€™s of Nursing Degree will be required within 8 years of the date the license was obtained.
  • One (1) year Post Anesthetic Care or Critical Care experience.
  • Certification in a specialty area preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within six (6) months of the hire date.ย
