- Communicate concepts effectively, patiently and positively explaining and answering student questions.
- Avoid doing student work for them.
- Be in communication with course instructor and supervisor; promptly reply to emails.
- Be on time and tutor scheduled hours.
- Keep accurate Peer Tutor Log.
- Submit Peer Tutor Log every 2 weeks when completing Time Entry in Self Service
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tutor in given content area.
Typical Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Overall GPA 3.5
- Program GPA 3.0
- Strong content knowledge and ability to accurately and effectively communicate content information as determined by course instructor.
- Recommendation/referral of course instructor required.
Supplemental Information
Work Environment and/or Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to navigate to greet and welcome visitors to the Academic Center.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
