The Times of Northwest Indiana in Munster, Indiana, is seeking a curious, driven and enthusiastic sports features writer to join its sports desk.

The successful candidate will come away with more than just a game story to highlight the people, teams, trends and news that shape the landscape of sports in the area. The person must be excited to keep us ahead of the curve with digitally focused components like photo, video and social media packages. The successful candidate will be driven to put a human face on a prep seen spanning a large metro area just south of Chicago.

Responsibilities include coverage of the high schools in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties in Indiana, as well as local colleges and community sports.

With the Chicago Bears pursuingย a stadium in Hammond โ€” one of our major cities โ€” NFL coverage opportunities may soon become part of our daily sports offerings as well.
