This role is responsible for the full execution of PV plus storage projects, including both AC and DC scopes of work.

Approximately half of residential projects include battery backup systems, requiring strong technical expertise in energy storage installation, commissioning, and jobsite safety. This role collaborates closely with Installation Managers, Project Managers, Field Technicians, Warehouse, and Safety to deliver consistent, code compliant, and efficient systems that reflect Namaste Solar's standards and values.

Responsibilities:

Crew Leadership & Project Execution

  • Lead safe, efficient, and high‑quality installation of residential solar PV and energy storage systems.
  • Supervise and mentor a crew of installers; provide hands‑on training and real‑time coaching.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to maximize productivity while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Communicate daily with the Installation Manager on job status, schedule, and constraints.
  • Solve on‑site challenges independently while escalating when appropriate.

Battery & Energy Storage Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of residential battery systems, including AC- and DC-coupled storage projects.
  • Install and verify proper operation of backup interfaces, backed-up loads panels, gateways, CTs, and communication equipment.
  • Perform battery and inverter commissioning, system startup, and testing per design and manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify and resolve basic troubleshooting across PV, storage, and service equipment.
  • Ensure all energy storage work meets NEC requirements, manufacturer specifications, and Namaste safety standards.
  • Educate customers on battery system operation, backup behavior, and system expectations during project completion.

Safety, Quality & Documentation

  • Uphold and enforce jobsite safety standards.
  • Ensure installations are code‑compliant, well‑documented, and meet quality expectations.
  • Complete commissioning checklists, photos, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure material SOPs and inventory controls are followed.
  • Support inspections, corrections, and callbacks as needed.

Collaboration & Culture

  • Participate in team meetings, feedback cycles, and performance reviews.
  • Represent Namaste Solar professionally with customers, inspectors, and partners.
  • Incorporate company values, pillars, and cooperative principles into daily work.
  • Lean into teamwork, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Active Colorado Residential Wireman (RW) or Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Strong experience in residential electrical work and solar PV installation.
  • Demonstrated experience installing residential energy storage systems (ESS).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and structural plans and field layouts.
  • Solid working knowledge of NEC, particularly Articles 690, 705, and applicable ESS sections.
  • Comfort working with live electrical systems and managing elevated safety risks.
  • Strong field‑based problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
  • Professional, clear communication skills with both crew members and customers.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and job documentation tools.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles and meet insurance requirements.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work on rooftops, inside attics and crawl spaces, and perform outdoor work in varying conditions.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • NABCEP certification (PV Installation or PV + Storage).
  • Manufacturer training or certification for residential battery or inverter platforms.
  • Experience with retrofit storage projects and existing service equipment.
  • Experience installing critical loads panels, service upgrades, and backup interfaces.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting at $31 - $38/hour, dependent on experience
  • First-year PTO: 2 weeks' vacation, 6 days paid sick time, 8 paid holidays
  • Health, Dental and other add-on / optional benefits offered within the first 30 days of employment
