With three offices, located in Salt Lake City, Utah as well as, Thunder Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. Nordmin is known for being responsive, practical, and forward-thinking. We move quickly, solve complex challenges, and deliver results that exceed expectations.

We’re expanding our Mechanical Engineering Department and are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who is ready to lead complex mining and mineral processing projects from concept through completion while mentoring a growing team.

Your Opportunity

This is more than a senior technical role — it’s an opportunity to lead.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide project execution, mentor team members, and work directly with clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead mechanical design projects from concept through detailed design and construction support
  • Prepare engineering plans, calculations, and construction documents
  • Develop technical specifications for equipment procurement and installation
  • Lead and mentor Designers and Engineers through all phases of project development
  • Coordinate with structural, electrical, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution
  • Participate in internal and client project meetings and design reviews
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities
  • Support occasional site visits and client meetings (approximately 10% travel)
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (U.S.) required
  • 10+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial projects
  • Experience working with engineering consulting firms, equipment vendors, or mining companies
  • Strong project management experience from concept through commissioning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
