Job description

J. Cor Architecture is a Scottsdale-based residential architecture firm designing luxury custom homes, spec homes, and residential communities throughout Arizona, Utah, California, and Nevada.

Our work brings together thoughtful design and a strong understanding of how homes are built. Every project is considered in relation to the people who will live there, its setting, and the architectural principles that give it a distinct identity.

About the Role

J. Cor Architecture is seeking a Studio Production Lead to provide technical and production leadership across our growing residential architecture studio.

This is a senior architectural leadership role focused on construction documentation, technical coordination, project execution, quality control, and team mentorship across a wide range of residential project types. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced residential architect or technical project leader with a strong understanding of residential construction, builder coordination, detailing, and Revit-based project delivery.

This individual will work directly with the founder and studio leadership to help oversee project execution, maintain technical quality, mentor production staff, and support the continued growth of the firm’s production capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical development and production of residential architecture projects from design development through construction documentation.
  • Oversee drawing set organization, coordination, detailing, and overall document quality across active projects.
  • Ensure projects are technically sound, well-coordinated, and aligned with firm standards and builder expectations.
  • Support project teams through technical problem-solving and architectural guidance throughout project development.
  • Help maintain consistency and quality across production deliverables within the studio.
Technical Coordination and Documentation
  • Review construction documents for coordination, constructability, code compliance, and overall quality control.
  • Coordinate with consultants, internal project teams, and external partners throughout project development.
  • Develop and refine architectural detailing, documentation standards, and technical production systems.
  • Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues during project development and permitting.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and builder-driven project delivery.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
  • Mentor and support architectural staff, drafters, and project teams throughout project production.
  • Help train and guide team members in Revit workflows, documentation standards, and technical execution.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and quality-driven studio environment.
  • Support leadership in building and developing a strong internal production team as the firm grows.
  • Assist in onboarding and evaluating production staff as needed.
Studio Collaboration and Production Standards
  • Collaborate closely with the founder and Director of Studio Operations to align project staffing and production priorities.
  • Help evolve internal production workflows, Revit standards, templates, and detailing libraries.
  • Contribute to the continued refinement of studio-wide production systems and quality control processes.
  • Support efficient project delivery while maintaining strong architectural quality and design intent.
  • Help strengthen the firm’s technical and production capabilities as the studio continues to grow nationally.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Architect preferred, or equivalent senior-level residential production experience.
  • Strong background in residential architecture and construction documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of residential construction methods, detailing, consultant coordination, and permitting processes.
  • High level of proficiency in Revit and BIM-based project workflows.
  • Experience leading or mentoring architectural production teams preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and production teams effectively.
  • Experience with production housing, luxury residential, custom homes, or builder-focused residential work preferred.
Location

This position is based in our Scottsdale, Arizona studio and requires regular in-office collaboration. Candidates should currently live in the Phoenix metropolitan area or be willing to relocate.

  • Base salary: $100,000-$125,000, depending on experience
  • Performance bonuses tied to revenue growth and signed contracts
  • 3 weeks paid time off, plus bank holidays
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Opportunity for executive growth within the firm
What We’re Looking For

The right person for this position brings strong technical knowledge together with the ability to lead and develop others, supported by 8-10 years of professional experience within an architectural firm. You should be comfortable solving complex production challenges, strengthening documentation standards, mentoring team members, and working closely with studio leadership to improve how projects are delivered.

We’re looking for someone who cares about both design quality and how architecture gets built, and who wants to play a meaningful role in strengthening J. Cor's technical foundation as the firm continues to grow.
