Job Description

As a Security Officer Entry Screening in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a retail and mall location, you will help create a welcoming environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, and assisting visitors, tenants, and staff. You will maintain a visible presence, help deter security-related incidents, conduct routine patrols, and communicate professionally. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, common areas, loading areas, parking facilities, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
  • Assist with maintaining orderly access and a welcoming environment while communicating professionally with site personnel, customers, and members of the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
