Live In Lavender Farm information

What is a live in lavender farm worker?

A Live In Lavender Farm worker is someone who resides on a lavender farm and assists with daily operations such as planting, harvesting, processing, and maintaining lavender plants. Their responsibilities may also include caring for the property, helping with tours or events, and producing value-added lavender products like oils or soaps. Living on-site allows them to be involved in all aspects of farm life and ensures that the needs of the plants and property are met year-round.

What are some common challenges faced by individuals working on a live-in lavender farm?

Working on a live-in lavender farm can be both rewarding and demanding. Common challenges include adapting to a rural lifestyle, managing the physical labor involved in planting, harvesting, and maintaining lavender fields, and coping with variable weather conditions that can impact crop yield. Additionally, team members often need to coordinate closely to ensure efficient farm operations and may be asked to help with agritourism activities or farm events. Flexibility and a strong work ethic are important for success in this collaborative and hands-on environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lavender farm worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lavender Farm Worker, you need basic agricultural knowledge, physical stamina, and experience with planting, harvesting, and maintaining crops. Familiarity with farming tools, irrigation systems, and sometimes organic certification practices is highly beneficial. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong teamwork skills help ensure smooth farm operations and high-quality crop yields. These skills are essential for maintaining healthy lavender plants, supporting farm productivity, and contributing positively to a collaborative work environment.

Job description

Veterinarian – Full-Time

Animal Care Hospital & Wellness Center, a trusted name in veterinary care in Kula, Maui since 1994, is looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our compassionate and collaborative team.

Whether you're a recent graduate seeking strong mentorship or an experienced veterinarian looking for a rewarding career in a peaceful and scenic location, this opportunity combines purpose with paradise.

Animal Care Hospital was founded by Dr. Cindy Krach and Dr. Dennis Brown and has earned a strong reputation across Maui for our commitment to excellence in patient care and client service. Our facility features modern equipment including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, and surgical suites. We care for a wide range of species including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, goats, and pocket pets.

We offer an extensive suite of services that appeal to a variety of clinical interests, including wellness care, diagnostics, ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry, surgical procedures, pet behavior counseling, pet nutrition, international health certificates, and end-of-life care. We also provide advanced services such as canine reproduction, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and stem cell therapy. With an in-house pharmacy and full case management capabilities, our veterinarians are empowered to provide comprehensive care from start to finish.

Our supportive team culture ensures no single-doctor days, fosters collaboration, and encourages professional growth through mentorship and continuing education.

We're seeking a veterinarian who is passionate about patient care and values strong client relationships. Ideal candidates demonstrate excellent diagnostic and communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, and are eager to contribute to a positive workplace culture. Interest in our specialty services or exotics is welcome but not required.

Located on the slopes of Haleakalā in Kula, our hospital sits in one of the most serene and scenic areas of Maui. Upcountry offers a refreshing lifestyle with cooler temperatures, expansive views, and access to farm-to-table dining, botanical gardens, lavender farms, and outdoor recreation. It's an ideal setting for anyone seeking both professional fulfillment and a high quality of life.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to support your personal and professional wellbeing:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Vacation and Holidays
  • Continuing Education (CE) Allowance and Paid CE Days
  • Paid Professional Dues and Liability Coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Discounts on Products and Services
  • Paid Parental Leave for all new parents (birth or adoption)
  • Strong Mentorship and Career Growth Opportunities
  • Employee Discount Program on products, travel, dining, and more

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values at Animal Care Hospital and Wellness Center. We foster a culture where everyone can bring their authentic selves, feel they belong, and thrive.

If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of pets and their people while enjoying all that Maui has to offer, we'd love to hear from you.
