Opportunity:


Virtual Service Operations is seeking a highly technical Data Center Deployment / Infrastructure Technician (Generalist) with hands-on experience supporting liquid cooling systems, structured cabling, and low-voltage power infrastructure in live data center environments. This role requires strong hands-and-eyes capability, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to execute installation and commissioning activities with minimal supervision.


Responsibilities:


Liquid Cooling & Mechanical Support

  • Operate and support DSIM software for hardware planning, asset placement, and rack layout validation.
  • Perform fill and purge operations on liquid cooling systems, including nitrogen purging and filling PG25 coolant through 25-micron filtration systems.
  • Safely operate pumps and related equipment in accordance with site safety and procedural standards. Support commissioning and validation of liquid-cooled infrastructure.

Power & Electrical (Low Voltage)

  • Support low-voltage engineering tasks, including interpretation and execution of power Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Participate in L4 Bronze Commissioning activities, including commissioning secondary CDU loops.
  • Verify power paths, labeling, and connectivity during deployment and commissioning.

Cabling & Network Infrastructure

  • Install and maintain structured cabling for Top-of-Rack (TOR) switches and IOI cabling.
  • Troubleshoot existing cable plant and network cabling infrastructure (beyond basic cable lacing)
  • Validate labeling, routing, bend radius, and workmanship against engineering standards.

Rack & Hardware Deployment

  • Perform rack and stack activities for servers, networking equipment, and supporting hardware.
  • Validate rack placement based on floor layouts and tile positioning.
  • Support hardware planning using DSIM, floor plans, and rack elevation drawings.
  • Provide hands-and-eyes support for remote engineers and operations teams.

Testing & Validation

  • Use Fluke meters (or equivalent) to test cabling and connectivity.
  • Document and report installation results and discrepancies accurately.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with DSIM and data center hardware planning tools.
  • Experience supporting liquid cooling systems, including fill and purge procedures.
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling in data center environments.
  • Experience with low-voltage power systems and commissioning support.
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot live infrastructure in production environments.
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and install equipment in rack environments in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work on ladders, under raised floors, and in confined spaces.
  • Availability to work maintenance windows or extended hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with liquid cooled AI or high-density compute environments.
  • CDU commissioning and coolant loop validation experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, rack elevations, and power-network diagrams.
  • Prior hyperscale or large enterprise data center experience.
