Your work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.     Role Responsibilities:  
  •  Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.  
  • With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.  
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.  
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.  
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.  
  • Clean, sterilize and wrap surgical packs
  • Maintain overall cleanliness in patient rooms and treatment
  • Assisting in kennel duties ( taking patients outside for potty breaks, dishes, laundry)
  • Handle lab samples, run in-house lab work 
  • Position for and take radiographs 
  • Have basic knowledge of vaccines and medications 
  • Utilize Vetspire (or comparable practice management software) to review patient records, identify due services, and ensure accurate and timely charge entry.
  • Proactively assess patient needs during appointments and support workflow efficiency through accurate service capture and documentation.
  • Perform technical nursing duties including subcutaneous (SQ) injections, ear cleanings, and routine outpatient treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Support doctors with common procedures such as nail trims (NTs) and express anal glands (EAG), ensuring patient comfort and safety.

  • Ideally have at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital 
  • is a team player 
  • knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology 
  • ability to appropriately handle, lift, and restrain animals (dogs, cats, pocket pets, etc.) and stand for long periods of time.
  • has basic organizational and computer skills.
