Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: To perform all janitorial tasks as established for the SVRC building selected by need of the agency at a quality level consistent with all janitorial contracts. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manage a systematic cleaning schedule established within building specifications, with special emphasis on quality control. Track inventory, request necessary cleaning supplies and report needed equipment repairs to your supervisor.

Assist with outside yard maintenance as needed or requested, such as weeding landscape beds, spot checking for loose trash and watering shrubs on occasion. Utilize an established quality control checklist on a daily basis and communicate necessary periodical cleaning functions to your supervisor. Assist in the clean-up of spills when requested using universal precautions at all times.

Responsible for the safety of individuals within assigned work areas and within job duties. Responsible for maintaining a healthy safe work environment for building occupants. MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Assist in hard-floor maintenance: Stripping, applying coating and refinishing. Assist in carpet cleaning utilizing carpet extraction method. Assist in any required cleaning above 72 utilizing appropriate safety equipment and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school degree preferred or janitorial experience. Knowledge of proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies is necessary. Evidence of organizational abilities, as well as basic skills in communicating with a variety of people, is required.

Experience working with individuals who have disabilities is preferred.
